I am a speech-language pathologist for almost 20 years who is also a multi-generational entrepreneur and consultant. I began a podcast in 2018 spotlighting and inspiring disability entrepreneurs and innovators by sharing their intimate stories of courage, vision, and passion to change the world. I quickly realized that not everyone was listening to podcasts so I decided to bring a few of my guests together into a book format to help widen their reach AND provide specific guidance from each author on creating and maintaining an offering, as well as personal insights and an invitation to connect with them. This began the Becoming an Exceptional Leader book series. 

Each new book grew from my vision of focusing on a niche area and providing a variety of perspectives for the reader: a person who identifies with a disability, a parent, a service provider, or a healthcare professional, with a passion for making a substantial impact in the world. These collective anthologies have been globally embraced especially during a time of great upheaval and perceptual shifts. While the world was deluged with "woke" teachings, our stories touched people in the most intimate and personal ways, allowing our readers to listen, digest, and take time to decide whether or not they want to open their hearts to possible shifts and growth. 

I've been told that our "behind the scenes" stories have changed many people's lives forever in terms of their own self-talk, belief in their abilities, and their understanding of "presuming competence" as it relates to people who use alternative communication. In sharing our stories, we are helping to change the worldview on disabilities, one story at a time.
